It has been some time since I posted a page of quotes so today I decided to remedy the absence.  One of the reasons I love quotes is they have such a unique influence on the way I see something.   A good quote opens my eyes to nuance.  Nuance for me is the discovery of something that shapes the way I interpret or see something much bigger. These quotes are not meant to teach theology or stun us with brilliance, their purpose is to get us to mutter under our breath.  Quotes are not flood lights that illumine the entirety of a situation or subject, they are more like a candle that adds light to a dark room.

  • “It is our pride not our brokenness that keeps us from knowing God’s Grace.”
  • “Few things short circuit the daily impact of grace in our life more than our unwillingness to be broken followed by our unwillingness to be made whole.”
  • “When grace showed up in my life it arrived at a spiritual “death bed” where the battle was lost.  Graces presence brought life where death had won, light where darkness was all that existed and the hope that comes from being forgiven and in relationship with Christ.”
  • “If my understanding of grace is only linked to the moment I enter into a relationship with Christ I will miss the daily impact of grace that draws me to a life of worship.”
  • “Grace has taught me that I need not have God remove my pain in order to know his love by showing me the kindness of God that reaches into my pain and lets none of it go to waste.”
  • “God’s grace is not intended to improve how I feel but rather transform who I am.”
  • “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and “YES” to self-controlled, upright and godly living it this moment we find ourselves.”

Okay you caught me, the last one is from the Bible, Titus 2:11-12.  I just love it when it says that Grace teaches us to say “NO” and grace teaches us to say “YES” in this moment in which we find ourselves.  Today I pray that the Grace of our Father shines on your life in such a way as to cause you to sing, cry, dance, laugh, tremble, worship, mutter, shout or sit in silence with a heart filled with gratitude.  Thanks for reading.  Off… we go now.

  1. Amazing quotes – thanks to our mutual friend Wendi for sharing this on Facebook. Are you the source – I wouldn’t want to quote them incorrectly!

  2. Lyn, thank you for the kind words and for stopping by. I am the source except for the last one, it comes from the bible. God Bless
